Summary
Squat Alarm is private by design. No account required — the app works entirely on your device, and the camera feed never leaves it. Below is the full picture.
What we collect
- Anonymous device ID. A random UUID stored in the iOS Keychain. It survives reinstall but is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
- Usage analytics (via PostHog). We log app opens, screen views, and major actions (e.g. "completed alarm") to understand how the app is used. These events carry only the anonymous device ID — no contact info, no precise location.
- Subscription state (via RevenueCat). If you subscribe, RevenueCat tracks the entitlement and your anonymous device ID so you can restore purchases on reinstall.
What we don't collect
- No name, email, or phone number.
- No camera footage — pose detection runs entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Video frames never leave your iPhone.
- No precise location.
- No address book, contacts, or messages.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
Where data lives
- Your device. Alarm settings, history, and preferences are stored locally in the app sandbox. You can wipe everything via Settings → Delete All Data.
- Third parties. PostHog stores anonymous analytics events on EU infrastructure (https://eu.i.posthog.com). RevenueCat stores subscription state.
Children
Squat Alarm is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. The App Store rating reflects this.
Your rights
Because we don't tie any data to your real-world identity, we can't look up "your data" by email. But you can wipe everything tied to your device at any time — open Squat Alarm → Settings → Delete All Data. That removes the local anonymous ID and breaks the link to any past analytics events.
